Congress avoided a government shutdown and passed a $1.7 trillion omnibus funding bill.

The House approved a $1.7 trillion spending package Friday,  a day after the Senate adopted the sweeping bill despite a last minute tussle between Republicans and Democrats over southern border policies.

The House vote, which provides funding of domestic and foreign programs through Sept. 30, took place only hours before the government ran out of money and would have had to initiate a partial federal shutdown.

The Senate added a list of amendments to the hefty spending package during their hours-long voting session Thursday, including legislation that provides basic workplace protections for pregnant and breast-feeding workers.

Show me the pork!!! Last ditch effort before you lose the house. I'm not hating. If I was in your shoes, I may have done the same thing. Do we have 1.7 trillion to give? We are not in Kansas anymore Auntie Em.. No matter how this goes. Life goes on. We can eat crow later. Glad that you are happy.

Will the taxes be evenly distributed through the states or will some be charged higher than others?
