My play along check list:

Gucci Guilty Absolute - Have it.
Hell yes, brother! The most yee-haw Cowboy leather. 10 out of 10. Love it.

PDM Carlisle - Smelled it.
It's not bad, but it's not high on my list. Wouldn't mind owning it, but not in a rush.

Mugler Pure Havane - Have it.
Really enjoy it, but in the age old fight of Pure Havane vs Pure Malt I lean Pure Malt. Really nice.

Amouage Royal Tobacco - Never smelled.
Would definitely love to though. My contribution here is an endorsement of my favorite Amouage, Imitation Man.

Boss Bottles Elixir - Smelled it.
Surprised at how good it was, reminded me of the era of Issey Miyake when they put out great dark scents. High on my list.

Xerjoff Naxos - Have it (but just a decant)
Really, really nice. I don't know what else to say, this is a legendary scent. Will likely get a full bottle when my decant runs out.

Roja Parfums Enigma - Never smelled.
I don't even have an excuse here, the price point of Roja just turns me off. I got a decant of Elysium, liked it, compared my like to the asking price of a full bottle, and just sort of deleted Roja from my interest reserves in my brain. Which probably isn't fair, I should give this a chance and get a decant. You make it sound great.

Okay, to contribute I'm going to name a quick 5 from my collection I would only recommend to a true frag head:

1) Eight and Bob - Cap d'Antibes
I almost put Champs de Provence, but anyone can wear that and this is frag heads only. Cap d'Antibes has a bit of designer sensibilities, but the smokiness and moss aren't going to be appreciated by all.

2) Guerlain - Habit Rouge
I almost went with L'omme Ideal L'intense, but Habit Rouge is straight up not for the normal folks. And none of the flankers either, I'm talking about the original EDT. It smells like it's from another time, because it is. Too many notes to list, but all of them from the lemon to the rose to the vanilla need to be sat with to be appreciated.

3) Nishane - Unutamam
This is the most powerful fragrance I own and it smells like a dark souls boss. It's worth it if you're strong enough. Don't be a fool. You may think you're prepared for the dirty mint, oakmoss, oregano, and licorice, but you have not completed your training. Spray once. ONCE. And yeah, this is absolutely gorgeous, but not in a way I expect most people will appreciate. This is the Sex Panther bottle from Anchorman. 60% of the time it works everytime.

4) Boy Smells - Marble Fruit
On paper this might look like a fairly safe fragrance for the masses, but in practice it can be challenging. Some folks end up with a pickle scent, but I don't. When you focus on what you're smelling, the combination of florals, pear and nectarine, and cinnamon end up giving this the feel of a sweet bottle of wine on a cloudy day. Not for everyone and will take some folks off guard.

5) Guerlain - L'ame d'un Heros
Yeah, it's two Guerlains but who cares? There's nothing overly challenging about this fragrance, it's just a beautiful masterpiece. The reason I'd suggest it to frag heads only is because the Les Parisiens line is a part of fragrance history at this point and the difficulty and price point of tracking down a bottle will sound insane to all but the most enthusiastic of fragrance enthusiasts.

Fantastic list Chris. You have me reaching for my bottle of Carlisle which I haven't sprayed since last Winter. The good news is that it smells even better than I recall.

Btw, I last wore Naxos last Autumn at a football match and laughed when my friend said he could smell the local bakery situated close to the stadium. I had to tell him it was me.

Roja enigma parfum cologne in the drydown is beyond amazing! I like the parfum as well but the freshness in the parfum cologne in that drydown is to die for! Great list as always Chris 😊

I just blind bought a 150ml bottle of Gucci guilty absolute today, living on the edge! I love leather and I really enjoy Encre Noire, Encre Noire A L'Extreme, Bentley For Men Intense and Fahrenheit so I hoping for the best. I got it for 68 gbp.

I have almost 80 niche fragrances including 12 Rojas and I think Enigma snells like an alcoholic in a dusty library…good comparison! I respect it but don’t like it. I prefer Rojas Gulf collection or Pierre de Velay if I want to feel refined, or a Kilian if I want a boozy fragrance.

Got a decant of Gucci Guilty Absolute and tried it. I LOVED IT! It smelled so leathery, dry, devoid of sweetness, classy and mature. I was ready to buy a 100mL bottle UNTIL my wife caught a whiff of it. Boy, was she ever NOT a fan. So sure, GGA is a masterpiece, but I can't wear it!
