Fly Fishing in September can bring some of the best sport the season has to offer. When the fishing conditions are right the top of the water sport can be second to none. Dry fly can be very often the order of the day. If you intend to go fishing this month then these five flies will certainly do a job for you.

Let me know which one was your favourite or if you think I have missed one of the list that would make your top five for fly fishing in September.

Welcome back. Streams are opening here, Victoria, this weekend. Can you do 5 early season stream patterns?

Great to see you again lindsay. A few good flys I will need to tie this month. Unfortunately my local water has been closed recently due to high water temp. But also preparing to rake out weed and bloom with winch and tractor.so it will be closed to end of this month. I am hopeful to get out in October.

I'm big on terrestrial season as I've said before and a touch of red. Here in Massachusetts we have some drought conditions in many places with fall stocking just around the corner. Really a challenge right now. Take care Lindsay look forward to your posts.

Great selection, the hopper looks a great choice, what about a foam daddy on the point with the hopper as a dropper? Fluocarbon of copolymer for each of your choices? Off to Rutland and Eyebrook in a couple of weeks so will give them a go.

September and October are my two favorite months. I don't use too many dries, just a couple of good dry patterns, one of which is a grasshopper, the other a generic #12 to #13 Elkhair Caddis with rubber legs and or a UK pattern I have forgotten the name of! Geez!! Under that a Copper John or almost any good nymph #16 or #18. I probably catch most of my fish on this setup. Our September can start with snow flying or mankini weather! You don't want to be there for that! 😱😂

Great to see you are back to making videos. Wondering when using flotation on CDC do you use liquid or powder? Thanks for sharing your talents 👍
