The old shinies were automatically generated, so pokemon tend towards certain colors, like pink normals becoming green shinies. Knowing which way shinies of similar colors go helps with this challenge.

I realized that there is a pattern to these. The first, third, and fourth options are all on the same side while the second one is on the opposite side

For pretty much every single shiny, it's always gonna be the "darker" or "more faded" one. Not sure if it's just the way Nintendo set up the script for generating shinies or what, but if you're looking for it, all shinies are kinda washed out color-wise.

For alot of the older pokemon in the pokedex, and in the earlier generations, most of the pokemon's shiny forms weren't hand picked or designed by the developers, it was left up to the AI. A great example of how the AI chooses colors for the shiny form is normal gyarados, shiny gyarados, lotad, and shiny lotad. Both gyarados lotad have blue that make up their body, and the shiny forms of both are red. There's a pattern to shiny pokemon most of the time in older generations

I did it right for all

1. Shiny Galarian Mr. Mime resembles old TV screens in scales of gray
2. Shiny Nidoking has Nidoqueen's color scheme
3. Lotad... I just knew it because I tried to shiny hunt it (I failed), and I got surprised of its shiny, I wanted it because I have shiny Nuzleaf
4. Shiny Persian, subtle changes, I am not able to forget something like that
5. Shiny Porygon is one of the Pokémon I ever had a lot of shinies before (alongside Eevee, Porygon is the Pokémon that I got shiny more than others, I even have in gen 9 in the box one with the Pory-family all in shiny together, I have to answer it right)
