CNC Sanding Attachment Amana Tool In Sand Sander

Did you know you can sand on a CNC machine? Sanding a walnut slab on the CNC using the new Amana Tool In-Sand 4" CNC Orbital sanding attachment! It's important to make sure that the slab is surfaced flat before using the sander on the wood. The sander is dynamically balanced to limit vibration. It is spring loaded to keep the correct sanding pressure on the pad extending the life of the sandpaper. This tool is a game changer for processing large slabs on a CNC machine and removes a lot of the sanding work needed after surfacing slabs. I was very impressed with how well this worked and removed the lines from surfacing perfectly! I'm using 80 grit paper here. Check out the tools used on our website -

RPM: 8,000
Feed Rate: 200ipm
Plunge Rate: 50ipm
Depth of Cut: .0197"

Awesome. Followed by "Holy shit, $700 CAD. Maybe I'll try to make my own".

With no dust collection set up and the constant pressure, it seems like the dust has nowhere to go but gum up the sandpaper

£‌425.00 to the UK? You're joking, right? My god, could get one made out of titanium for that much!

We always used pencil in our wood shop in school. Chalk seems like a much better alternative

It would be cool to do stainless steel and do a design with it.

Finally, dust collection!!! Woot woot

That’s a huge power cost for what it’s worth 😮

Doesn’t it melt the adhesive on the pad and the Velcro it’s self with the speed and pressure it’s applying?

Price aside, how thoroughly has the safety been tested for this? What would happen if someone has the rpm set to 24k and the pad flew off at those speeds?

how smart! Why didn't I ever think about this😅

People can't even sand without a CNC now.

We need a chalking tool for the CNC. That looks laborious

It would be nice to once get a smaller version in 8mm shank for the smaller machines

What software you use to create the g-code?

Damn lol. I was in the start phase process of coming up with this idea. I couldn’t believe it was something I haven’t seen sooner.
Little pricier than I was planning on.

top notch dust collection mandatory. You don't want sanding grit in your mechanical parts

Do they sell these in smaller diameters? This would work perfectly for sanding recessed door panel at the cabinet factory where I work. 4” ⌀ would still leave a lot of hand sanding in the corners.

Why not directly put the pad on the adapted collet and set the just right amount of pressure with Z height? If the job is just to remove the flattening marks the slab should already by "flat” ..??
