A Famous MiG-15 Kill that Didn't Really Happen
Показать описание
In November of 1950, the Korean War was witness to the first jet-vs-jet victory.
The initial dogfight happened between an American Lockheed Shooting Star and a Soviet MiG-15 during an attack on the Sinuiju bridges south of the Yalu River.
The Americans were outnumbered and their aircraft technologically inferior, but they quickly proved to have superior skills and plenty of determination to face their enemy.
The encounter led by pilot Russel J. Brown would be claimed as the first jet-vs-jet victory, but it was later found that the Soviet aircraft returned to base safely.
Still, it would take just one more day to match the incredible feat and take its rightful place in history...
