On hot meals and haring , If you look at tropical regions like the caribean south america, afrika regions or south east asia . meats are hard to preserve so cooking it and using spices is a way to eliminate deadly bacteria . In nothern europe most foods like haring are cured in salt, smoked, pickled to last longer and stay fresh . and haring and fish are a great source of proteins and fat . The ame for pork, beef, chickens etc all had their own season of slaughtering . due to flys or weather a thunder storm can spoil many food items including freshly made soup .



Hot meals for breakfast or lunch are more common than one might think depending on your profesion . Working on ships or 24 hr service factories people do eat hot meals at lunch time . Farmers and sailors would often start work at day break have a little coffee and sandwich then at breakfast time they would eat poridge, fried eggs etc .

But main stream is bread in the morning with meats, jams, cheeses, or sprinkles . and children would get a glass of milk with that and when at school 10 am they get a milk break and usualy have a little liga ( high fibre kookie) as snack or an apple /banana. and at lunch milk and sandwiches . a good base for the brain as it contains carbohydrates, sugar and is easty to digest so the brain can absorb as much information as possible . and then 5 -6 PM when people come home there is a hot meal . and the day is finished .

There are some other raw meat items as well that are popular, Tartaar a raw grounded beef steak . or german met a raw pork minced meat . both highly tasty if you are used to it .


The negerzoenen is actual latin for black kisses . the lating word Negra . in spain you have pata negra translating in to black legg Also known as Iberico ham . a spanish cured ham that is verry expensive and verry tasty . . The sad part is that english and americans in particular turned it in to something negative and derogative to people with dark skin .

And this carried over to former colonies as something negative and started to complain about something that has nothing to do with racisme .
As there are also dutch cookies called Enkhuizer Joode Koeken ( Jew Cookies ) the creator of this cookie was jewish and named them this way . as brand name and i can say they are verry verry good cookies .

People realy should take better notice at school and languages as not every thing is racist .

On the language front, english is a daugther language to frisian of the 2 languages closest to English number 1 is Frisian and number 2 is Dutch .
The dutch proficiency in otherlanguages all has to do with the old trading mentality of the colonial empires .
Most people learn 3 languages at school sometimes 4 depending on type of school.
Dutch English German and or French . When dutch children grew up back before the 1990s there where only a few channels, to chose from Dutch, Belgian, english, german and french . and as all small children like cartoons people would watch cartoons with out subtitles in native languages .And this is a great benefit for children as they subconciencly learn words and recognise grammar . making it easier to learn languages later on .
