So..there is so much to unpack here. Dare I say this is the edit of my dreams? I've been waiting for a long time to actually feel like I'm good enough at editing to even attempt something like this. The mini script I had in mind is basically a mix between Gotham, his comic book origin and Batman Begins. You can find the whole miniplot below the regular info!

► Plotline: Jonathan Crane is a professor of psychology who is obsessed with fear because of his his traumatic past and childhood. He wasn't experimented on by his father in this version but has an abusive family background coupled with being bullied when he was younger. After he gets fired for his unusual teaching methods it goes downhill. The nightmares and surreal visions that plague him get worse.

Prior to becoming the Scarecrow he kills his abusive grandmother and the parents who abandoned him. He gets apprehended but escapes shortly after because..well, it's Gotham. While the GCPD is on the search for him he finally puts on the costume and becomes one with the Scarecrow. He develops his toxin, kidnaps people to conduct his experiments and perfect his formula. That's when Batman gets involved after Gordon asks him for help once traces of the toxin are found.

Crane will kill some of his test subjects, others he'll let go to tell the tale since he views killing as a side effect rather than the goal and his victims incoherent reports would spread even more panic through the entire city. His true end goal is one massive field experiment on Gotham with his fear gas. He takes over ACE chemicals with some of his surviving test subjects who surprisingly turned into his followers and view fear as kind of a religion with Scarecrow as the god of fear (that's what they'll refer to him, they are basically completely crazy and even Crane didn't expect this side effect but welcomes it). Chaos spreads through the city along with the detonation of a fear gas bomb. Batman follows his traces to stop him from doing further damage. During their last fight he'll wear the more traditional costume with the hat.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk, hope the universe will give us a Scarecrow movie because I've been thinking about plot ideas for over 10 years and I'm tired lol

I always felt that Cillian Murphy deserved more screen time as Scarecrow. I would have had him be the main villain in Batman Begins and have Ra's al Ghul come back in The Dark Knight Rises along with Bane.

I cannot even find the words to describe how much I adore this. Cillian's scarecrow was my favorite and I'm always bitter we didn't get more of him on screen. This concept trailer is really one of my dreams.

Awesome job, as always! If he doesn't get his own movie, we NEED to see Pattinson's Batman face off against him. Scarecrow fits the darker feel of the movie and is definitely good enough to be the main villain in a sequel.

I feel like most writers use Scarecrow as a plot device to force Batman and his allies to face their greatest fears. Shame because Scarecrow has the potential to be very interesting.
