Learn Along: Animate the Earth

This video is part of the Learn Along series meant for new users. It gives step-by-step instructions on how to create a simple animation and teaches some of the basic concepts of Adobe Animate.

The bit that is missing from the tutorial is the fact that you need an identical shape to the 'Earth' layer on the 'Mask' layer, the tutorial makes no mention of it, so a blank mask layer does absolutely nothing as the entire animation is caught within the mask. As a beginner, I only found this out by trying to do this from scratch, not from the built-in Adobe Animate tutorial which supplies all the layers, I was wondering why I couldn't get the mask to work, now I know, it all makes perfect sense.

I am new and this was super confusing for me because I couldn't see what was being clicked on and there was no narration, I think some shortcuts were used but no idea what they were because I have never used this program before. What was done after adding the mask that made the world layer indent under the earth layer? I have rewatched that section like 20 times and I am baffled.
