Thomas S. Buckham is a young lawyer in the frontier town of Faribault, Minnesota when an unspeakably brutal war sets the young state ablaze. Tom volunteers to fight, bringing him face-to-face with Alexander Faribault–the city’s idealistic founder and a man torn between serene memories and a changing world.
