Nvidia Tesla Volta GV100 & DGX & HGX Tesla Volta Computing Stations Revealed at GTC

Nvidia had their GTC 2017 conference, at at it they revealed the Tesla Volta GV100 GPU, as well as two computing stations meant for servers and data centers.

NVidia is a credit to deep learning and AI. Such innovation in the server space is likely to make investors jizz money.

Well, I guess that confirms no consumer Volta GPUs this year. LOL Though, why anyone believed their were going to be any consumer Volta GPUs this years is pretty strange. NVIDIA does not look like it’s gearing up for the huge undertaking of launching a new consumer architecture. Furthermore, they recently launched upgraded models for their existing 10 series lineup: “PLUS” versions. And, there is no indication of the price cutting to reduce stock (with 9 series), which you saw prior to the 10 series launch.

i still dont get what all the fuss is about with this new chip as I wouldn't expect to see anything like this for consumers for at least 4-5 years. Basically to far away to care about alot can happen in that time so we will have to wait and see.

I call BULL SHIT on the GV100 die size Nvidia is giving. Maybe that is the INTERPOSER size but not even the mighty Intel can get much above 600mm2 for an actual chip die because of reticle size limits..
