I have been playing guitar for over 30 years and this is a revelation for me. Some people just have the gift, which I have always been pretty jealous of. I have always had to work hard on my playing and understanding of cord structure. Goes to show you are never too old to learn as long as you are willing to discover. When I was 12 my dad gave me one of those chord dictionaries. I saw right off all the repeating shapes. When I learned the shapes then taught myself all of the inversions. I showed my dad my hand done book which was much smaller than that huge dictionary lol
