the reason why they made the corridor long is because the dev's need the light to be dark and "spooky" so that the back of jeff wouldnt be seen and also so that the fog couldnt be seen through

I'm pretty sure the dark corridor, in the lore is just a way for jeff to go to his other shops, i'm pretty sure there will be more shops with jeff in the next floor, even el goblino confirmed a little bit with one of his messages saying something like "jeff's other place is better but this one is still good"
