The ammunition storage is still safer than T-72's. And lack of infantry support isn't a fault of the tank but rather of Turkey. The Leopard 2 is still a far better tank than it's primary counterpart the T-72B3

The narrator sounds a bit confused. Lacking infantry support is an issue for ALL tanks, especially in close order urban combat. As for losing the tanks in Syria? I imagine that the tank-slayers had something to do with it all too.

To be fair front armor is considered the strongest in a tank so putting the ammo storage in front might not be the craziest idea. Also the rounds are not the biggest problem it's the propellent . That in the leopard are stored nose to front. So the propellent get protect by the round it self. In Russian tanks due to the auto loader this is reversed propellent to the outside. So if a Russian tanks armor get penetrated first thing behind it is a explosive substance. In a leopard first there is a big chunk of metal Infront of the propellent.
