What I loved about this movie is that although it is supposed to be a testosterone flick, it never viewed women with misogynistic lens.

Here is one historical truth. Spartan women were exceptionally healthy and fit among all Greek women. They practiced gymnastics, a little wrestling and boxing. The Elite also had some education. The role of women in Sparta was to mother the toughest meanest killing machines for the Spartan Army. A role they take seriously. SO this is what she meant by "Only Spartan Women can give birth to real men".

You also notice in a later scene Leonidas even tells Xerxes, "Oh clearly you do not know our women. I might as well have marched them up here judging by what I have seen".

What I really like about the portrayal of Gorgo is that she is also a woman of strength. Not physical but emotional. In the farewell scene, she does not show her sadness. She is as courageous as his king and is ready to accept whatever fate awaits.

Now redpill bullshit indoctrinate us into hating women because they are weaker and can't fight for shit. Remember, when us men go to the front and fight, we need our women behind to tend to the wounded. And more importantly take care of our children and elderly. In world war 2, while husbands were overseas fighting Nazi's the wives not only took care of families left behind but even kept the economy afloat.

As I've learned, Marie Antoinette never actually said, "Let them eat cake." However, I've also learned that the French queen was perceived to be so detached from the common folk that she could have made such a remark.

I've expressed my contempt for Hollywood taking liberties and teasing the audience with, "Based on a true story." I've finally come to accept that Hollywood's aim is to entertain - and movies are not documentaries.

However, I've watched "300" at least three times and I totally applaud the inaccuracy cited here. If Queen Gorgo actually made that comment as Plutarch reports, that sort of lady could have said it to an emperor.
