surprisingly, I actually prefer the K688 via XLR's sound compared to the SM7b

Realistically, this mic would be fine for most. Quality content, attention to space, etc., Would be more important than having expensive equipment. Expensive toys are fine, just not really necessary.

Great comparison video! One thing. I wish you would have done a plosives test on the k688 with the sm7b pop filter on it.

Shure is better when budget is not a factor, but for the price Fifine is really good, like really really good.

the main thing is that he doesn't say anything about the microphone, which means that he doesn't understand anything about microphones or is cheating for money from the Chinese, what's good is that the sound from the microphone is not bad, it makes little noise and is enough, the sound is very close to the head and is not enough, the sound from afar is for recording in bad conditions, this is good, and the rest is terrible, it is impossible to touch the microphone and the wire, it's a bomb in the ears, no isolation of the head from the body, USB recording 16 bit 44 kilohertz and the sound is much worse than through the wire, a very weak signal comes through the headphone output and is distorted, good luck to everyone

This is not about built quality, this is about the sound dude
If want built like built like sm7b buy a tank on russia millitary
This is all about how it sound
Fot the price
That a killer dynamic microphone

Do you notice a good difference with the shure pop filter on it?

4:43 thats simply wrong. You dont want to speak into the top of it, because you dont need to to get a good sound. The mic is supposed to point to your mouth, not your mouth towards the mic. If people would realize that more, we wouldnt need overprized windscreens like the ones from Shure.
Oh and btw... using the smaller Shure windscreen is changing nothing, EXCEPT that you will be farer away from the mic, due to its length in comparison to the original one. Except for that, there is no way i would advice on spending 20 bucks for the Shure windscreen for such a cheap microphone - then just buy a better microphone with the money.
Also it isnt helpfull or relevant that you are using the Rodecaster all the time. People looking for mics in that price category wont have that, so if you want to compare mics with processing on it, do it with the tools people will have to their hands. And thats usualy either just software via USB or an affordable interface.
