“It’s legendary. Legendary man.” The smile. The memory of what once was. From this lifetime Matty, the pull was always there. Now 64 and finally content with training.

as a skinny ripped athletic build teenager, after my first 4 month of nubie gains at the gym i used to think you can look like a mr olympia naturally if i trained 4 years. this was year 2000 we only had magazines. i am 40 and makes me laugh at myself when i think back

I was lucky enough to have competed during the late 80's into the mid 90's. It was a whole different game...doses so low they'd be laughed at or told bullshit. You had to do things nutritionally that took more than most now could imagine. And I was sponsored by a Golds and had that parabolon he's mentioning...came outta France in ampules 76.5mg if I recall correctly. Just 2or 3 a week was incredible..

Parabolan was an incredible drug. Immediate strength and hardness! Nothing else like it back in the day!

It’s probably difficult for these old bodybuilders to not be huge and nobody staring at them anymore.

This is what has to happen. All the pros have to tell you what they were taking so these damn kids stop dying. I recently quit training mma because I realized, as much as i love it. I won't ever be able to compete with my injuries and age. Realizing your not meant for something is way more commendable than this new "ill force my will by any means" generation in bodybuilding

Die big, die young, Dianabol!

The gym I used to train at sold T-shirts with this on. Body Masters gym, that was their slogan. The owner even went to prison for it. But they had some wicked big lads in there
