The least that should be done is having people that struggle with gender dysphoria under mental health care until their body and brain have fully matured. You dont want to mess with your hormones too early the complications are so much worse than that of a fully developed adult recieving hormone therapy.

The brain is an organ. The brain develops at a different time to the gonads in the womb and sex differentiation is heavily influenced by hormone exposure/genetic sensitivity. If you look up biologically in detail how human sex differentiation works it's a complex flow chart with some answers landing in the middle and either side of standard male and female. Trans people know how their biology works. Your brain is intertwined with your body. Quality of life is important. "If my childs body is fine its ok" even if their mind is in so much anguish they are willing to end their life if they have no support? Puberty blockers were used on cis children all the time but no one cared then. The body IS trans. It is tied to their physical being INTRINSICALLY.
