Today we will make an art journal page. First we will use stencils to make 2 backgrounds at once. Then I will show you how to keep your ink jet printed items from bleeding with wax. We will apply gesso, stamp using markers and learn lots of tips and tricks along the way.

I almost didn’t watch this video as I am mostly a card maker. I am so glad I did watch it. Learned a lot and am thinking of starting an art journal just to play with techniques. Thank you and I wish you wouldn’t worry about the time so much. I come here because I enjoy you and the way you teach.

Oh Wow I love love love this. The wax is a great idea, the colors, and the quote. I have to use that one on one of my RCAD cards. I love the different way to do a rainbow. I have made a couple but I love that stencil. I can make one on my Silhouette OH... I have an idea coming to use a flower one I have. Lindsey I can't thank you enough for all the help you give me. I feel like I can come and get an art lesson any time by watching on of your videos. I really appreciate that so much. I am a retired first grade teacher who loves art and take time for it everyday. I would love to take classes but I just want to be at home,  playing with all the stuff I collected the last, well lets say, many years. LOL  Big Hugs, Linda

Love, love. love the day I found you on U Tube! So many great hints and tricks for less! Being a beginner, I really appreciate it. I have a few tips for you! I also get the little wooden letter stamps. I found by unfolding one end of the box and refolding it a half an inch longer, it is much easier to get at the little wooden squares.   Also, I have had luck printing out from the printer and using embossing power, if I use the "best and or photo" setting and am real quick, I get the embossing power to stick so I can emboss the phrases ect. I have printed out.   Rock on girl, you are a "One Woman Wonder"! Looking forward to watching all of your videos.

Thanks Lindsay. I'm trying to watch lots of old journaling iTunes to get more ideas and techniques. I'm practicing my techniques on backgrounds for cards. If I don't like finished product then I die cut what I do like and use on another card. After all practice makes perfect or give opportunity to learn how to cover up the area. I have NO problem watching long videos. I appreciate what u teach me!!

This is one of the most helpful art videos I have ever watched! I almost spent so much in ink when I realized I just could have used waterbased markers the whole time! Thanks so much for the tips and this is my favorite page you ever did so colorful!

Not an art journaller (?) at all, but one can always learn (what you said for instance about the shellac in the ink made me look deeper in to it - I find these things very interesting and useful to know). And even when you seem to keep track of the time I think it flies when you are explaining what you do and talk about the properties and characteristics of the materials you use. I find that particular very very good.

I love it! You know, you can use a little white gesso to paint over that ink smudge on the "I" stamp to hide it. I have some stuff I got years ago that was supposed to help cover up mistakes on watercolor called "Aquacover" by Creative Mark. It even came in different shades of white to match several brand names of watercolor paper. It didn't work for me for fixing mistakes on watercolor because it is watersoluable and when I painted over it the paint picked up the white and changed color, but it is great for covering up mistakes that I don't plan to repaint. It would be perfect for fixing your ink smudge too. I used it when I painted one of your bird pictures because I got the beak too thick--worked great.
Thanks for sharing--I love the quote.
