I remember my orthodontist telling me “I have this one flavored like bubblegum” and then shoving it in my mouth. Sir, it did not taste like bubblegum. My jaw hurts just watching this.

my friends wore braces as teens, and I've heard so many horrible stories I was so thankful my teeth were born in the right place 😅. Once a friend of mine gaged so much they had to redo the molding... poor girl, she suffered so much, at least her teeth look great right now

It's so nasty. My ortho in Keller still does this for Invisalign. :( I feel like it makes my trays not fit well

As someone in dental sales I can tell you it’s still a good 50% of offices are still use pvs material and haven’t gone digital. They worry mostly about price which is the same reason that same 2 step impression goes to a lab that outsources your crown overseas for 45 dollars that the doctor pays while you pay between 900 and 1500 for a single zirconia crown that wasn’t even made here. There are good dentists with integrity out there but very few.

IM 12. I RECENTLY DID THIS, GOOP AND ALL. (probably 1-2 months ago) but it really wasn’t so bad, it just tasted bad and stuck to my teeth

im gen z and i still got to experience this 😭😭 it was AWFUL. i didn’t rlly feel like throwing up, but it was so uncalled for. my dentist didn’t say anything. she just came up to me and SHOVED it up my mouth💀💀💀

The way I would GAG when getting an impression. The goop felt like it went down my throat and I had to sit there with tears in my eyes 😭

I still remember the sensation of the goop vividly. It was such a viscerally unpleasant experience. Like being gagging with the horrible lovechild of playdough and silly putty and it’s spreading up and down tickling the edges of your throat and sinuses making you think you’re about to die for a minute
