LPG price cut: Govt is bearing the impact not OMCs, says Hardeep S Puri

In a move that will bring respite to households across India, the central government has announced a Rs 200 reduction in cooking gas. "The government is bearing the impact of LPG price cut and not Oil Marketing Companies", Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, said while talking to ET Now's Nikunj Dalmia.

Is it not prudent to switch to induction or electric cooktop rather than subsidising imported fuel? Both no. of connections & price will also increase... because rupee keeps depreciating...
