During the past few days I've been watching Laird's interviews non stop. So inspiring.

Contentment...acting instinctively, deep thoughts on fear, non-competitive with others, highly accomplished artist... this is an inspired being here. Interview appreciated.

I stumbled on this interview and have to say it's one of the best! The interviewer was excellent, genuine, real - most interviewers I see and are not, they are just doing a job. He brought the best out in Laird Hamilton and in doing so, himself as well. I love how the main themes of the interview were highlighted in the bar at the bottom of the screen; loved the pace of the interview; the topics were well covered and sincere. Well done! It was totally inspiring.

Laird has been a real source of inspiration for me and I could learn a lot listening to him regarding how to live a healthy life : diet, exercise, rest, relationships, fulfilment etc.
This man is really an example for me of humility, spiritual connexion with Nature, human relationships, peresverance, pushing yourself.
Thank you Mr. Hamilton for sharing your knowledge that are so precious for the young man that I am !
And thank you Tom for your true sincerity interviewing great people !

The world is a mirror, if we approach it aggressively, that's what we will get back from it. I we approach it with stillness and gratitude, that is what we will get.

I have heard such concepts and thought processes when I read some spiritual esoteric texts, some from Buddha's suttas, Zen, or lives of yogis in India or Himalayas, but encountering them uttered by a man with the direct, authentic, and firsthand experiences from a man who risks his life riding waves all the time. It's a mind blowing experience for me listening to Laird Hamilton, and I felt Laird's talk even changed the way Tom usually talks with other guests on his show. Love you guys.

The differential between scared & fear that Laird presents has a perspective that could be life changing for me, literally. I'm only 10 minutes in on this video and just in awe.

At about 23:42 he's talking about mental priming, not the ocean giving back what your give it. Our brains notice what we have last focused on, so it appears as though there is more of it. If you are looking for a new car of a certain type, you will see more of them. If you allow yourself to get triggered into aggression it will seem as though you are fighting with something. These perceptions are created by our brains, they aren't only happening in reality.

Never heard of him before but this was an awesome interview yet a lot of great ideas and philosophies. Love the notion of doing things for you and not for the outside world and still becoming the best or at least one of the best. The idea of ignoring competition when most people know the sport for the competition it's pretty awesome.

3rd time through and this gets better every time. There is no better teacher than nature, *especially* the ocean.

Always love your show Tom! But Dann this was one of the best. I've only heard a little of Laird in the past, but your interview style and his message spoke to me on such a deep and spiritual level. Thank you for what you do and all the great content! God Bless!
