The DP World Tour heads into its third Rolex Series event of the season as the Wentworth Club hosts the BMW PGA Championship. Ryan Fox returns this week to defend his title. He won his first Rolex Series event 12 months ago after finishing ahead of home favourites Tyrrell Hatton and Aaron Rai. The victory helped give Fox a second consecutive top five finish on the Race to Dubai Rankings and earn him dual membership with the PGA TOUR. The New Zealander claimed three top tens this season in the U.S while not missing a cut in nine DP World Tour events. Rory McIlroy will also be in the field and looks to go one better than his second-place finish at the Amgen Irish Open last week. He’s managed two solo wins this year with victories at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic on the DP World Tour in January and the Wells Fargo Championship on the PGA TOUR in May. He also hasn’t finished outside the top ten in his last four appearances at the BMW PGA Championship. Tommy Fleetwood will also fancy his chances this week. He’s claimed seven top ten finishes this season including a 2T finish at the Olympics in Paris. The Englishman has never won at Wentworth, but this could be his year. Others to look out for are Matt Fitzpatrick, Robert MacIntyre, Shane Lowry and Justin Rose.

Even knowing the result, watching this playoff was terrific. Class act by Horschel for his reaction on the winning putt. McIlroy has been playing great and he will win many more tournaments but you gotta feel for him.

Wow...that putt was incredible. So sorry for Rory but he was in the mix right and you can't beat a great putt on a great line at just the right pace. Phenomenal.

With long iron shots it's hard for a perfect draw shot because the wind, spin connections with club face, and club face open and closing on downswing, my advice would be use lower irons than usual and do a slow controlled shot, wich is going to be easier to draw, so if flag is 150 yards away and 9 iron goes 150 yards, drop to a 6 or 7 iron, concentrating on technique and nice controlled shots to perfectly draw it, then you got better chance of a draw shot, also with long irons, line up the centre of the golf ball with the flag using perfect vision and aim centre of the flag, it then usually goes only a little bit left or right of the flag and creates a short put instead of a long put, also do green reading before every game, if there's a big slope, line up the centre of the golf ball to the slope your aiming at, then that should create a short put to.

Good for horschel… hes lost plenty of tourneys through the years bc of his putter, so its good to see him win bc of it. Surprised to see he’s 4th in scoring avg on the pgat thus year

‘Well played’ to all three in the playoff. To get to -20 and not win in regular play is tough but the margins are very small at this level! Rory perhaps disappointed not to birdie the 18th in last hole of regular play? But he did say his iron play was fractionally off in final round. But Billy had a red hot putter this week, with 7 straight birdies on Saturday! And he probably got a good read on that last putt from Rory’s which turned slightly in last couple of feet.

Even if look back at the US Open, the markings on ball showed a good roll on those two putts so seemed to read more break than there was for the pace he chose as didn’t even touch the hole. So he hit the putt he saw on both. I’m sure he does anyway but slight more practice those nasty slightly sloping 4 footers. And Bryson got a great scramble on 18th but got a bit of luck to have any second shot.

This is so classic. Reminds of other similar playoffs. Your opponent outdrive you every single hole(especially
here Rory was probably using 1 club down every shot?), and always put ball closer to the pin. But at the end it's that one putt. Needs some of luck but still ...
