Is it possible to have the MIDI signal go via the USB port itself, to skip the MIDI port entirely?

to anyone who's not aware, you can tell midiox to display decimal instead of hex. just right click on the monitor window and select "display as decimal"

At 1:01:15 you mentioned Vin. I usually use a 9V Battery for that. Also a combo of POT-SWITCH would work fine.

wonderfull JOB, now I can make a lot of midi controller with old guitar gears that was abandoned here... my first will be a old broken VOX Tonelab SE, It will be a real furious controller for my guitar ... all because of you, thanks.

This is an excellent tutorial!
I just have one question. Would you please tell us how to program a button to send multiple commands at once?
Much appreciated you!

So, it is really easy to send it over usb. Just use hairless midi, set the baudrate to 31250. thats all folks :D

This is fxcking unreal! Thank you so much for your tutorial AND THE CODE! I just built this thing and it works! Pure Data loves it.

Two things I got mildly stuck on that might help others to know :
1. <MIDI.h> if the sketch won't compile if this library is missing, do a quick google, find the library on Github, google again if you don't know how to install a library in the Arduino IDE. it's as easy as installing a plug-in
2. STOP asking if this will work with USB! You don't need it! Get a Midi to USB cable. Try ebay, I got two for $15 w/ free shipping. Plug that cable between your midi and USB holes. There, fixed.

I don't know if anyone appreciates just how much work there is in creating this stuff. Noobs like me with some soldering skills, but zero code brain can build it simple as Lego. Thank you so much again! xx

This is awesome!! I've got two questions though..1.Do i need to finalise the setup via Ableton or is it ready to use with Midi after the Arduino programming and 2. can I use this setup to send communicate midi to a Raspberry setup?

great great great guide.. thank you very much.. i built my six button footswitch for HX Stomp only following your instructions and now it's working great.. only thing I wanna ask: I want one switch to send CC69-Value 0 and another to send CC69-Value 1... and so on which is used to switch between snapshots while staying in a preset. Looking at your code, I can't figure out how I can add value to any CC.. can you please help me? thanks

Great tut !
Is it possible to use piezo elements as a buttons and what extra modifications/components would be necessary ? I want to hook it up to my Korg Volca Sample with the Pajen firmware to enhance my Analog Drum Kit. :)

Dave, I'd like you to build a MIDI box with: IN, OUT, Thru

Really enjoying these tutorials. I've not used Arduino before but going to attempt a guitar pedalboard to operate Guitar Gig.

One question... the Nano... I assume that I can wire it to operate via a battery?

Thanks so much.
