Ultimate Strategy to Board the Plane First

I laways board in the first few. I am retired Navy, and disabled so I have a cane. So, when they call military to board, disabled, military active duty, I board. I also check my bag, and only bring on board the plane what will fit under the seat.
I have only heard 'now boarding active duty military and retired military' once. It has been a gripe of mine that those serving short enlistments, 2 - 4 years, get priority over those of us that have served 20 + years, in my case 22 years.

Always have both, but have always found call board group numbers, and even then, some just board whenever they want

@canyonoverlook9937 It's to get overhead bin space. That space is at a premium. If you don't get that space, you may be forced to gate check your carry-on bag thereby defeating the purpose of traveling carry-on only.

Why do you want to get on first? Seasoned travelers used to want to get on last.

Is it possible to print the boarding pass at home or do you have to do it when you get to the airport if you want a physical boarding pass? Also, how far in advance can you print it at home if that's an option? Thanks!

Should the scanning device such as smart phone---etc -- malfunction -- as they often do, physical pass may prove more convenient.
