Auto Upgradation to Travel in Third AC Coach With Irctc Ticket Booking Sleeper Class Train Ticket

Summer holidays are coming. Planning to travel this summer vacation? Are you booking train tickets to go home or to go on tours? But you can use an amazing feature provided by Indian Railways. You can travel in AC coach even if you book a sleeper class train ticket. For this you have to select an option while booking train tickets. That option is called Auto Upgrade. This is a feature introduced by Indian Railways long ago. Railway passengers have to opt for Auto Upgradation while booking train tickets. Learn how this option works. If you look at the method of allotment of train berths in the past, railway passengers would get a seat in whichever coach they wanted. If the seats are not available, the ticket will be cancelled. But Indian Railways has introduced Auto Upgradation feature. Through this feature, railway passengers can get a berth in a higher coach if there is no available berth in the coach of their choice. But the seat will be available only if the berth is vacant in that coach. Passengers do not need to pay any additional charges for this. For example, a railway passenger should select the auto upgrade option while booking train tickets in sleeper class. If the passenger opting for this option has no berth in the sleeper coach, there are chances of getting a vacant berth in the third AC. But this feature works only when the berths are vacant in the third AC coach. If auto upgradation is selected, sleeper ticket bookers will get third AC tickets, third AC ticket bookers will get second AC tickets, second AC ticket bookers will get first AC tickets. But this feature works only when the seats are empty in the higher coach. This feature works on first come first serve basis. It means that among the railway passengers who have chosen this option, only those who have chosen the option first have more chances of getting a higher berth. Railway passengers have to tick auto upgrade option after entering all passenger details while booking train tickets on IRCTC. Only then will this feature work. The option has to be selected every time the train tickets are booked. Many railway passengers are traveling on sleeper class train tickets by selecting this option and traveling by third AC train. Auto upgrade option is available only for those who book train tickets on IRCTC. This feature does not work for tickets booked at train counters.
