Michigan Supreme Court refuses to hear 2015 DUI case

In 2015, Anthony Owen was stopped for speeding. Officers arrested him for driving under the influence and charged him with possession of a firearm while intoxicated.

Owen's attorney, Ed Sternisha says the officer was wrong for pulling Anthony over for going 43 in a 25 mile per hour zone.

The prosecution tried to use “ignorance of the law” to defend the police officer, saying Police Officers can’t be expected to know every law even though they enforce the law, yet the rest of us cannot use that defense when charged with a civil/criminal offense, as we’re expected to know every law.
