Uber Scandal: What did ex-CEO Travis Kalanick do with his $2.5 billion payout?
Показать описание
Hi everyone! This one is quite interesting. A few thoughts that I've had after the editing. I am a fan of people who are good at growing businesses, scaling their team and making a company successful against the odds. I also think that B2C entrepreneurs that directly service citizens are often in the limelight. B2B is a safer place for anyone who dislikes PR and being "woke". Travis was kicked out of Uber because of PR so I hope that he can do his thing without the scruitiny of the media in his newest venture.
And here some summaries:
Travis Kalanick: Co-founded Uber in 2010 and was forced to resign in 2017. Stayed on the board until 2019 but was also forced to leave. Was controversial due to their company culture and his neglect to address [censored due to guidelines] cases. He sold 90% of Uber stock and gained $2.5B. He created a venture fund and he bought controlling shares and became CEO of a cloud kitchen startup in 2018 (of City Storage Systems LLC which owns the trademark CloudKitchens)
Uber: Ride-sharing company founded in 2010 and expanding in freight, food delivery and other sectors.
CloudKitchens: A startup providing kitchen spaces, delivery and fulfilment services to restaurants. 40 employees according to LinkedIn. Wendy's and Burger King are partners.
