More fake news - The reduced hours was requested only for pilots in the Republic-owned training program LIFT due to the intense full-time nature of that program, where the hours are more relevant than military flight hours, and the learning experience is much closer to commercial airlines in terms of airport operations, avionics, and airline procedures. There are other existing exceptions to the 1500 requirement, as this "reporter" should know as well.

A bunch of people talking about something they know nothing about. Bedford submitted that request to the FAA just for pilots coming out of their own part141 pipeline program, not pilots in general.

the problem isn't "higher standards" as she describes them relating to number of hours ... I mean there are military top gun instructors who have under the 1500 hours and they're top shelf... the problem is DEI and the push to make the pilot pool look more like America .. this type of social engineering and the pressures to get people thru training who have no business flying is the elephant in the room on aviation safety... but nobody wants to acknowledge it because it means we have to admit that not everyone can do everything.
