Symbols of love, peace, power, divinity, imperial might and regality, beings long believed to have connections to the gods and heaven- Birds have always shaped humans imaginations and mythos and dispite all odds they have survived the ultimate extinction event and continue to awe us with their effortless grace and majesty.

66 million years later we are still, and always have been, walking with dinosaurs.

Another incredible edit and tribute to the most spectacular of animals! I can't get enough of these.

I love how the first bird you showed was a Cassowary, first it's feet, then it's crest, and lastly it's body, grunting on the beach, it's the perfect bird to start with, a clear sign that yes, dinosaurs aren't extinct, just a bit... different ;)

The fact that birds are dinosaurs is one of those things that, even if I hear it a thousand times, never cease to amaze me.

I like how Cassowary almost perfectly copies T-Rex's entrance in "North America" episode with the same angles and shots being used. A perfect way send the message about birds being dinosaurs

Kenneth Branagh: And we now know that one small group of dinosaurs did survive the extinction, and they're all around us today, the birds.

It sucks that one of the greatest groups of animals of all time, rulers of the earth for millions of years, had to die for this current era to begin, but they have certainly bounced back into the new world and are dominating once more

the biggest respects to the animals that kept going, and the ones that shaped this modern earth.

This makes the demise of the dinosaurs less depressing, to know that they are still in a way all around us.

Thank you for reminding us that dinosaurs still reign as the most extraordinary of any living animals today, birds.

The crescendo at 4:01 with the footage of Murmuration is downright genius!

If birds were this colorful, imagine how colorful their dinosaur ancestors were.

Me to the outside world: Birds are the graceful and proud descendants of an otherwise vanished line, the living reminders of adaptation in the face of overwhelming catastrophe, and a diverse breed of dizzying variety. Truly, they are inspiring to all of us.
Me inside: lol birbs

There's nothing more dinosaur-like than bird feet touching down

While modern animals certain enjoy a great deal of sampling bias, I think its safe to say that the fastest flying, swimming and maybe even running (with the highly reduced toe number seen in ostriches) dinosaurs are all birds. It is truly a wonderful lineage that we may have taken for granted, and despite all the genetic bottle they endured, this lineage has achieved some incredible evolutionary feats their ancient cousins could only dream of.

Saw a hummingbird today. That, along with watching this video, has given me a new appreciation for these Cenozoic Dinosaurs. Great work.

This is one of the most beautiful tribute i have ever seen, its shocking how remaining species of dinosaur that survive the extinction, could create a new groups, life forms, and ecosystem, it tells somehow...or always...once a dominating group vanished, theres always one to appear to continue their legacy ;)
