All that inner lining will never dry out. You skin underneath will get a large case of trench foot.

For all wondering how to dry it. I made same mistake. Full blow of shower water into the cast.

Use hair dryer it is a bit discouraging. But you need to be persistent at least 45 min of blowing. At first it seems like a lost battle but after 30 min you can see some progress.

I would not recommend that you go into water with it because next 45-60 min of drying cast are not worth it.

Maybe and only maybe on a hot windy summer day.

When I broke my wrist, I was casted in a plastic bubble wrap kinda material under the fiberglass, which was waterproof. It hurt too bad to swim thiugh, so I didn't do much swimming either way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If you can apply a watertight sealed container pike a plastic bag around the extremity it is technically possible to keep is dry. I do this with baths and shower for some of my residents that have special dressings (woundvacs primarily). But it is incredibly impractical.

I can't stand this full arm fiberglass cast! I fractured my wrist and three places while playing the floor is lava with my 6 year old daughter I know I have a cast that goes all the way to my armpit. I go out for nature walks all the time with her still and I think I might have a bug or something in the elbow part of it but I can't reach with the tent Stakes have been scratching with underneath the cast. I have been searching on every site I can try to find out if it is possible to remove a fiberglass cast at home I just want to remove the top part of it so that way I can at least do my damn hair or put on freaking deodorant

Brother can you stay in a splint the ER put my broken wrist into instead of a cast a ortho would put me in? I truly don’t have the money to get cast but worried I won’t heal right I mean splint is pretty similar to cast right

Why can't the web and stocking be replaced with a wetsuit type material that can get wet?
