Everyman Grafton Pen: Best $35 EDC Pen for the Masses? By 555 Gear

The Grafton Pen is the nicest everyday carry for $35 that I've seen, a considerable step up from the world of Zebras and Parkers. Featuring a longish 5.7" of total length, and a light weight of 22 grams, this black-coated aluminum pen has a great feel in the hand and pocket. It features a proprietary clicky mechanism which, while not feeling luxurious, seems to avoid the pitfalls of other popular boutique pens. While not really comparable in fit and finish to fancier pens I've reviewed here, the build quality is sound with no issues presented. At a price of $35, that is coming in very low in this segment and if you are use it the way I have, it should be a great "beater pen." Edit: how it writes is a function of the cartridge; it comes with a G2 which is fine but I'll probably swap it out for a Lamy.

Here's the deal, I love your watch video's first and foremost (watch comparison videos, low $ vs. hi $ stuff, etc...). Your style, delivery, depth of knowledge and video style is what keeps me coming back hoping you get back into that. WAY better than any other watch or horology stuff on Youtube. I'll keep watching pens, knives, clothing, boots, bags and stuff, but watches is what hooks me every time.

I have parker urban for about 6 years now and the plating starts to come off so the brass underneath is showing, i use it a lot but i also take good care of it. It only costed about €25 but i expected it to last forever

What is your favorite Pen to carry? Mine is currently the Waterman Blue Hemisphere. I love that one. But I also often grab my Cap-o-Matic Fisher just coz it's fun. Oh and imho the music volume was a bit high relative to the voiceover.

Cheap plastic retraction mechanism makes this pen a loser in my book. The mechanism started making trouble after a week...
My advise: save the money for something better.

Just wanted to add here that everything about the pen is pretty great however the writing is not as great as they said it would be the writing the ink stops and starts while im writing and ive done a lot of writing with here recently and its very troublesome. just my thoughts on it.

I'll stick with the Skilcraft Aviator B3. Nothing comes close to replacing this tool as my EDC pen.
