Kentucky law enforcement says Christopher Elder, 46, opened fire on his ex-girlfriend and her family outside the courthouse in Elizabethtown this week. Erica Riley, 37, and her mother, Janet Riley, 71, were killed in front of Erica’s children. Elder later took his own life after a police chase and standoff. I heard about this all the way over in Australia. A gutless coward. Monster. Not only did he do that, he did it in front of the children.
Heartbroken for those children

Restraining orders and contact prevention orders should be zoom only.

I think courts should be more flexible with zoom hearings for domestic violence.

Why, in today's age, do we have people in conflict meeting in person for legal proceedings

Going through this years ago, they assigned a victim advocate to accompany me from my car to the courthouse for each of the hearings. The threat was always there as it was the only place he actually knew where I would be at a specific time.

Having unstable stalkers meet their prey in the parking lot...BRILLIANT IDEA!

Perfect example to stop telling women to “just leave him”

A restraining order is just a piece of paper at the end of the day.

Coercive control and stalking. Stop telling women to deal with this. Instead, teach our sons that they do not own anyone and do not have power and control over them. Women do not have to police these guys.

My daughter and I were put in a similar situation in California while fighting a domestic violence child custody case for the past year now. We are from Massachusetts and had a restraining order from. Massachusetts against him. Each time we would go to court there, we had a plan because in that court in California everybody had to stay in a waiting room, regardless of the restraining order because according to them " they had cameras and officers" we always felt so unsafe. In one occasion her husband chased her all the way to the lady's restrooms while I had to take an elevator 4 floors down to look for help. Another time he had a friend of his, stranger for us wait for us to arrive with the baby outside the court. Luckily for us, we always had a plan and always drove a different car( a rental). We knew his car so we would make sure that he was parked and inside the court. I would stay in the waiting room and wait for everybody to go in and then text my daughter to come in when we were in the court room, we always sat against the wall there too( she would be waiting in the car or in a secret bathroom we found in the first floor and we will also alternate our looks and style, that's why his friend couldn't tell who we were). After the case would be over I would send her to hide in the bathroom and would stay behind making sure I would remind the bailer about our situation and he would hold him back. We would meet up in the bathroom abd wait for 15 minutrs before leaving. I truly believe he would've killed us had we not made those plans. In Massachusetts as soon as you walk in to security and tell them about your restraining order they will call a security officer to bring you to your court room and the officer will stay in and outside that whole time making sure that you are both separated from each other and would hold the defendant in the court room until security lets them know the victim is out of the building. We won the full permanent custody and he ran back to India as a FUGITEVE in USA!😂😂

My wife was working downtown when this was happening on Monday. She had no idea until I texted her if she was okay and to lockdown the building.

There should be a protective way of going into court for this

A real man moves on even if the women do him wrong, a coward will seek revenge.

These people get full of rage because someone doesn't want them, YET prove WHY you shouldn't want them...
