A history of James Bond watches: what makes 007 tick?
Показать описание
Mr. Bond uses the Omega Seamaster watch to time his breathless, non stop adventures from Mexico City via Austria and Morocco. Flexing his abs in his fourth Bond adventure, Daniel Craig incarnates the most famous British agent in the 24th Bond saga and watch fanatics will get their first glimpse of his timepiece. There is no surprise regarding the brand of the watch ever since Omega secured a franchise to time the spy's missions in 1995. While hunting down the agents of Spectre, Bond wears an Omega Seamaster 300 Spectre dive watch, complete with a NATO style strap that is resilient to the harmful force of magnetism. For the first time in the history of Bond watches, Omega has made this watch specifically for the film as well as offering for sale a limited edition of 7,007 identical models for sale for a price of €6,400.
For many fans, Omega is the brand they associate with Bond, but Bond aficionados will know that the original Bond wore a Rolex. Creator of the Bond character Ian Fleming was very precise in his choice of every detail of the fictional secret agents attire, and watches were no exception. The original James Bond as brought to life by Sean Connery in Dr. No in 1962 wore a Rolex Submariner. It was a perfect match: the world's first dive watch - a resilient yet elegant piece to accompany the rugged yet elegant 007 on his adventures. Connery wore the Rolex Submariner watch throughout his seven screen appearances, and the watch became so associated with Bond that collectors today still refer to this model as the James Bond Submariner watch.
