Fox Sports’ lead College Football analyst Joel Klatt breaks down a crazy week in College Football where 5 of the Top 11 teams in the AP Poll went down. He discusses #1 Alabama’s shocking loss to Vanderbilt and why this Crimson Tide team reminds him of the Lincoln Riley Oklahoma teams. He explains why Tennessee and Missouri’s losses should be viewed very differently. Klatt explains what he saw from Michigan in their loss at Washington and why the change at QB is just one of several areas that need to improve for the Wolverines. USC blew a 4th Quarter lead for the second time this season and Klatt explains the issues plaguing the Trojans. He also points out teams that stood out for the right reasons on Saturday as Ohio State rolled through Iowa in the 2nd half. He discusses what makes this Buckeyes team so good and the one question he still has about the team. Klatt finishes with the incredible Miami comeback then considers whether that win changes how he views the top of the ACC with the ‘Canes and Clemson. Sponsored by Hampton by Hilton.

Yo Joel! Big fan! I’m a Naval aviation search and rescue crewman. All aircraft must be under a certain gross weight for their landing gear so, burning fuel is the safest way to ensure your landing gear doesn’t collapse. I’ve seen jets dump fuel in emergencies to get back on deck of air craft carriers. Your pilots did a fine job during an in flight emergency and I’m happy you guys are safe. Any landing you can walk away from is a success. Have a great day man!

This past weekend is what college football is all about.

People overrated Missouri simply because they beat the 3rd string OSU team in the cotton bowl last year

Honestly SEC defenses hasn't been that strong for a few years now. There have been multiple 35 plus points scored

Speaking as a Michigan fan, I wasn't all that surprised. they have some serious issues. Giving up 34 points in the n4th quarter in the last two games is a huge red flag.

Lifelong Bama fan. Let's not denigrate Vandy's win. The coaching staff prepared an excellent game plan. The players executed that plan to near perfection. Bama appeared to have a plan of let's score points and hope for some takeaways! THAT DOG AIN'T GOING TO HUNT ROUND HERE!

As a commercial aircraft mechanic for 37 years I believe I’m qualified to answer the overweight landing issue. Many of today’s large capacity aircraft carry all or the majority of their fuel in the wings and center of the structure. Most can carry the equivalent of the aircraft’s dry/empty weight in fuel load. All aircraft have a maximum weight limit for flight and landing. We’ve all seen wing flex when looking out a window. I’ve done plenty of inspections due to unusual conditions such as overweight landings. Some but not all aircraft can dump fuel overboard while flying. Most aviators use this as a last resort because of environmental concerns. Your crew handled it well. Apparently there were no emergency concerns they just had to get below the maximum fuel load for landing.

Correction: The final score in that Michigan-Washington Game was 27-17 Washington, not 24-17.

Georgia at 3 seems high. Lost to Alabama last week, which doesn't look as good. Almost lost to Kentucky.

@JoellKlatt pilot here: the landing weight and takeoff weights are different pretty often. Landing puts more stress on the aircraft than taking off so the weight for landing will usually be less than takeoff weight. Flying a holding pattern to burn fuel and get down to landing weight is pretty common in situations that the pilots have to land earlier than planned. Not a big deal at all hope that helps! Love the show!

I predicted at the onset of NIL that this would become increasingly common. NIL at the current financial level deprives coaches of hungry players.

As an ohio state fan, i cant overreact, even if we go beat Oregon in Eugene, in big games for some reason we forget how to play football

I’m sorry but stop overrating the SEC. SEC teams always get a pass when they lose to bad teams.

Loved this weekend. One of the best college football Saturdays I’ve ever experienced

The SEC hasn’t been playing great defense for several years now. The SEC has slowly become the big12. And it isn’t just Bama for Pete’s sake.

The SEC bias is real. The only conference when their teams lose, they win in the polls. If any other team would have lost to Vanderbilt or Arkansas they would have a free fall in the polls. The Canes win on the road and they get jumped by a one loss team that looked average against Florida state. Ok!!! 😬
