Well, we were in their Homeland. I'm sure we as Americans would fight to the death for our country as well.

Not military but I’m from Iraq and I can say without a doubt there was more death in Iraq but in Afghanistan since it’s mostly rugged terrain and mountainous, the fighting was a lot more difficult there.

Never went to Iraq, you are spot on about Afghanistan though. “You have the watches, but we have the time”

I think he is right with Iraq, and it might still be premature to assume this. Hands down I've seen more people come back home from Afghanistan with PTSD, but I have yet to see the weird stuff with health problems and procreation as I've seen from the men and women that came home from Iraq. Whatever chemicals they were exposed to messed a lot of them up good.

I know they are talking about combat, but as a civilian the war in Iraq always pissed me off more, because I PERSONALLY felt that if the politicians had let the military run ground combat operations for another 24-48 hours in 91, then sadam would have had no one left to defend him, and therefore would have fallen to the uprising that came after the war, and the international national community would also already be mobilized and actually in on the plan to help Iraq. No doubt just wishful thinking on my part…….

I was in Sadr City 04-05 i never got in a fight that lasted less than 4 hours, summer of 04 was an Infantryman's paradise.

Went to Iraq twice, but didn't see what you guys did. I'm glad you're alive brother, that shit wasn't easy, and my family said I was never the same again.

I served in Afghanistan and my buddy in Iraq. The combat seems to have been quite different.

Its interesting to see people try to come to terms with the fact they decided to serve their country only to end up serving a group of elite.. who pitted them against people ACTUALLY serving their people.

As a veteran, yes Afghanistan was bad they were so determined to fight compared to Iraq. You guys nailed it. Sad to see at how Afghanistan turned out now.
