Lizard People?! The Craziest Conspiracy Theories Americans Believe

"On our national poll this week we took the opportunity to poll 20 widespread and/or infamous conspiracy theories. Many of these theories are well known to the public, others perhaps to just the darker corners of the internet. Here's what we found:

37% of voters believe global warming is a hoax, 51% do not. Republicans say global warming is a hoax by a 58-25 margin, Democrats disagree 11-77, and Independents are more split at 41-51. 61% of Romney voters believe global warming is a hoax

6% of voters believe Osama bin Laden is still alive"*

Public Policy Polling was a reliable source that helped accurately gauge the 2012 elections...but now they have some more numbers that are unbelievable. How many Americans (and Romney voters) think the moon landing was fake? That Obama is the anti-Christ? That lizard people exist...?! Cenk Uygur has the numbers.

Eh.. This is pretty dishonest.. You can't use polls and only show one side.. Of course seeing polls in the past republicans would be significantly higher on conspiracy subscriptions.. But you still need to say how many registered democrats, and independents in all of the studies where you mention one..

Given these figures, it would seem almost certain that some people believe several of these conspiracy theories simultaneously. I suppose we shouldn't mock them, life most be really hard and scary for these deranged nut jobs most of the time.
