So NERF decided to make a Flare Gun...

It's NERF. It's Fortnite. It's a Flare Gun. Weighing in at $15 or so in the US, the NERF Fortnite Flare is a reshell of the MEGA Bigshock or Talon, with the added gimmick of a breaking barrel... that functionally does nothing. Once again. Dang it, NERF. Still, it's comfy and looks cool; so it's probably worth it.

Fun Fact: Some brands of Flareguns are chambered for 12 gauge. Yes, it is literally possible to chamber a flare in a 12 gauge shotgun and actually shoot it. Just... don't do the reverse... a flaregun firing a 12 gauge short shell will cause the flaregun to explode like a 3D printed one-time ghost gun.

The faux wrap being rubber is pretty sick and really adds to the value and playability. Really let’s you get an aggressive grip without adding hockey tape or whatever most HvZ players do

I wonder... if we did a small adjustment to the inner barrel, like replace it with a piece of brass that's the exact diameter of a Mega Dart, can it shoot Mega XL?

I mean, it looks like there's a lot of dead space in that faux break-barrel. Perhaps there's enough clearance for the BigBadBlues?

Watching this just makes me want a nerf x team fortress 2 crossover, this is like one of the few fortnite blasters that I would buy, you don't even have to much to turn it in to Pyro's stock flare gun or the detonator, it is a shame its not true break action.

I think it would be good for an inline clip mod. The break action would be used for reloding.

they could at least have made it hammer prime, so unlocking the barrel would be the same action as priming, simulating true break-action. But no, using already existent engineering wasn't an option I guess.

The best part about this blaster is it's function is exactly what my neighborhood friends used to use the magnus for back in the day since no one else really used mega back then. During our little "missions", the sound of a mega dart being shot straight into the sky was always a signal for "danger"

Break action without shells is a bit of a funny thing in the nerf hobby. Either you have a cosmetic barrel shroud (eg the Mega Tri-Break), or youd have to somehow insert the dart tip first into the barrel without it falling out, and then still have it able to seat the dart in front of the plunger tube; which...good luck with that. So unless its a shell blaster like the Sledgefire or something, i think a cosmetic break action is pretty much whats doable.

What would be cool is if they turned the darts in to actual flares. Either by making them glow-in-the-dark, or making them a nice neon color, or even just giving them a glittery/reflective finish.
THAT would be a cool buy!

I like the idea of loading one of these up with one of those screamer darts and using it as a way to call for backup in an HvZ. No clue how practical or realistic this would be but the idea is cool

At least the fake break action could be fixed really easily this time, unlike with the Tricerablast and Tri-break. Just need a saw and a lot of putty. A custom barrel for either Sledgefire or Trilogy shells would be awesome but I guess it depends on how good the internals really are.
