Investigators are still searching for a suspect who murdered four Idaho college students, with new details emerging about the surviving roommates who were in the house.

So many people say this is someone who knew them. I still think it could be a serial killer who was watching them and prepared himself well. This kind of killing takes a lot of skill - 4 people were stabbed to death, including one young male. The murderer came to the house and left like a ghost. Even if this is someone who knew them, I don't see this being just a crime of passion, as so many people suggest. Again, as awful as it sounds - to stab someone to death is a lot of hard work, much harder than shooting someone; The killer butchers 4 people and just disappears into the night - it's hard to believe this was his first rodeo, this is simply experience. Doesn't matter if he killed just animals before or is an avid hunter, or military, etc., he has experience in killing or butchering. Serial killer or young, very skillful psychopath.

Let's add this all up:
1) 4 students stabbed to death causing a horrible bloody scene
2) 2 students 'slept' through it all??
3) They wake up and see someone is unconscious? With all the blood?
4) Rather than call 911, they call friends? (dumb move!)
5) Friends come over and realize there's a problem and someone decides to call 911, meanwhile corrupting the crime scene.
6) 2 of the murder victims are called the ex-boyfriend 13 times the hour leading up to the crime.
7) The murders were committed with a tactical weapon that is brutally violent.
8) The 2 surviving roommates are ruled out as being involved
9) Driver & guy at the food truck are ruled out as being involved10) Ex-boyfriend is supported by the family that he couldn't possibly be involved
Thoughts:
A) The reaction of 2 surviving roommates is inexplicable. By not calling 911 before calling friends, they made it 100x harder to collect evidence.
B) How is it possible these 2 girls didn't hear anything, considering 2 victims had defensive wounds ; meaning there was a struggle.
Conclusion:This appears to be a targeted crime likely committed by someone they know. Is it possible the surviving victims may know who this person is? (possibly). Even though the ex-boyfriend is supported by the family and looks too goofy to commit this crime, he MUST be investigated. The first 48 hrs. was completely mishandled by police and it's likely the killer is long gone. I really hope I'm wrong!

it was the roommates. they lied to the police saying the dead look "unconscious" "passed out" but theres blood everywhere, it would look obvious they were stabbed to death. Also no signs of a break in.

Why call friends to come over if you thought something was wrong and not the police right away. So the parties that arrived later were who called police. The town is terrified about safety, however the roommate's actions calling 'some friends' is concerning.

Most criminals who commit crimes, like this live in the vicinity since they are more familiar with the area and can canvass their victims easily

It's obvious they were being followed prior to the attacked. They shd pull the university's campus footage for clues to who was watching them.

more than one killer could have done this. if authorities are convinced that the 2 living roomates simply slept through the attacks, they have nobody else within range that they have publicly disclosed. they could waterboard, or they could start sending out lots of undercover female officers into the woods to play the damsel in distress routine and hope they get a bite. hopefully they actually do have a suspect or two, but do not yet have the evidence required. the pressure from the press will mount, and the impatience will increase, but it might be some situation where the killer(s) are local residents that need to be lured, or set up, legally.

Such a small town and yet no leads? I'm still baffled on two roommates that slept through not one murder but 4?.. what about the dog?.. I watch my Son's dog and he barks the second he hears strangers in my hallway, ?.. There is something weird with this case..unless they do have a lot of information on crime scene and waiting on tests by Lab?? I just feel the public should know a little more on what's known..The ex boyfriend Jack is eliminated as suspect so quickly...?

If the person who killed the 4 studnets is the same person who killed the little dog 3 miles away. THis serial killer has a 3 week cooling off period and we can expect him to strike again by Dec 3-5th

i wonder if this shooting was the killers fondness for serial killers, this has happened many times before where these young ppl are targeted simply out of admiration by the psycho for past killers, they almost glorify these killers, bound to be psychotic, this was extremely personal & God bless the families, losing their children when families come back together to eat & just be together, i pray they give these children peace at their rest & i wish for the 8 parents of these young ppl the strength to try & make sense of this tragedy, it's impossible to imagine the loss of a child, & to lose one to violence whether their child is 7 or 70 is never forgotten & felt, i hope everyone is safe & well during the holidays & God bless the children, all of our children
