From City to Woods | BikePacking The OCA

The OCA(Old Croton Aqueduct Trail) is unlike any other bicycle ride. From the streets of New York City, through Yonkers, into the woods, sweeping views of the Hudson Valley....I just love it. Sometimes it feels like you are in people's yards, other times in the middle of nowhere. It is such a great gravel bike ride. Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow, Ossining - many towns to stop in along the way too.

I’m always re-watching these, with this being one of my favorites. Spring is in full effect down here (NC) and the riding is top. I’ve been thinking about doing the five borough ride in may, definitely adding this one to the list. Keep em coming 👍

What a hidden gem of a set of trails! That’s so cool! Sweet that they have train connections for the return trip.

Cool. City to Woods. Grey to Green. Best of both worlds. Noice, as always.

I just found your channel, and I must say that you and your videos epitomize everything I love about bike culture and bike people. People who are really into bikes are some of the most laid-back, fun, and inclusive people I've come across. Do bikes create that personality, or do people with that personality gravitate towards bikes? If you ever get a chance to visit Salida, CO, it is loaded with bike-loving people and miles and miles of singletrack and gravel roads.

oca is such a treat, glad you enjoyed it. funny to see the dam during a drought, it's usually a huge heavy flow.

That's awesome. I love riding the OCA. Live about 10 minutes by bike from the nearest entrance in Ossining by the fire house. So cool to see it on youtube!!!

Terrific images. Your videos help destroy preconceived ideas of a place and I say that about myself.
I might need to get outside tomorrow morning and make camp coffee.😊

One of my fave rides in NY. Empire Trail up, OCA trail down.

nice. I went down to NYC the weekend before Nutmeg and actually rode a very similar route with a buddy, leaving from Bushwick, almost the exact same route except we took a left at the Tappan Zee bridge and went over to Nyack, back down and across the GW for a 76 mile loop. Riding over the Tappan Zee is actually awesome if you haven't done it. Also, that big gate/park at 7:10, we did a pit stop, pretty wild gardens with really great views.

Awesome to see an outsiders perspective on the OCA. I just got into gravel biking a few months ago and live right by the OCA. Didn’t realize I was sitting on a gold mine! I love riding it every weekend. Great video!

What a bikecation! Fall has to be the best time of the year to take a bike trip of this magnitude. (Pending temp and moisture) Luckily there pretty much has been a drought and unseasonal temperatures that made your trip unforgettable. Thanks for sharing! May your wheels be fast and steady.

Oh Brother!! Right before you said "I watched Terry B's video of the OCA during the pandemic" I was remembering that video as I saw all those "familiar" houses and spots go by. That's pretty much where it all started with me too except I live in Texas so, for now, it's a bucket list ride. But it will happen. Hell, by now I should have the route memorized!! Thanks T for your insight and taking us along.
