I lived in Carthage, Missouri (about 15 miles from Joplin) for about 18 months. At that time, Missouri highway 96 was Route 66 and ran right through Carthage.

Words can mean more than one thing at a time. Good songwriting uses this nuance to its advantage.

Kicks are our feet.

It's how we get from here to there.

So, if you get your kicks (feet) on rt66, it can also mean that you are walking, perhaps more to point, hitchhiking.

Kicks also morphed into a way to describe our moods, early American blues singers put on their walking shoes to get away...they no longer wanted to be where they were.

Barefootin = no additives, high on life

Brown shoes = high on coffee and cigs during the day, booze and cigs at night

Sneakers = you're high and trying to keep it a secret

Blue suede shoes = you're sad... so you got high

High heeled sneakers = a women who is high and hiding it.

Sandals = you're high and don't care who knows.

Route 66 is an interesting song, lyrically. Bobby Troup wrote it as well as Hungry Man. Both songs talk about being here and then there. Not sure if he used the same popular tropes about travel in other works of art. At the time, after WWII, it was a popular thing to take off to somewhere new. It's kinda an American tradition anyways, right? If you can't make it here maybe you can make it there. Some may think or interpret this American tradition to move around to mean we are a bunch of losers who move somewhere else where there's a better chance of being a winner.

Even the Mayflower came here to deliver Hobo's (AKA homeless boys) escaping a losing situation and find a winning one. So in a sense they too were losers who couldn't make it where they were so they hit the road to find greener pastures.

I also find interesting Chuck Berrys version where he rewrote it alittle to sound like he was inviting Jack (Kerouac?) to take a trip.
At the end he says we'll meet at route62.

The Stones cover this version.

if you ever plan to motor west
Travel my way, take the highway that's the best
Get your kicks on Route 66

It winds from Chicago to L.A.
More than two thousand miles all the way
Get your kicks on Route 66

Now it goes to St. Louis, down to Missouri
Oklahoma City looks so, so pretty
You'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Wynonna
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino

You get hip to this kind of tip
And go take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66

Well it goes to St. Louis, down to Missouri
Oklahoma City looks so, so pretty
You'll see Amarillo, Gallup, New Mexico
Flagstaff, Arizona, don't forget Wynonna
Kingman, Barstow, San Bernardino

If you get hip to this kind of tip
And go take that California trip
Get your kicks on Route 66

Get your kicks on Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66
Get your kicks on Route 66

Her sound is like US exclusivity, and forget about worries if there are some they will be cancelled periodically just because you are American. It is not about travelling America but about the mistakes that have been made and are being made by US.
In Croatian kicks means mistake. It comes from German though it is not in regular German dictionary, so it is a Slang or southern dialect.
1066. Has happened a battle in England. So this numbers have at least one political association connected to it. Others are potentially there and are in making as we speak.
Even the ragnarok that is kind of Nordic mythology judgment day is invented by Croats but for all other Slavic people.
But in our minds it is not the end but beginning. And all events are not determined in advance.
I understand that Germanic people want to have their determined version because everything in music is given for them in advance. The Music is supplied for them along the way at every twist and turn. Regarding technological progress: Some Slavic people after experiencing some cruelty by west have gone through Sumerian incarnation and have lost memories of their Slavic origins. Now after being reincarnated in the west they have made western scientific and technological domination possible. This is why even in the Bible the name for Sumerian people is scrambled and they are called similarly, but you can not understand it. Or what is that all about. It is the Slavic component in old Sumerian nation that contributed significantly to their cultural progress and nations close to them in Space and time were baffled by it. There is one really stupid story in the New Testament where a Sumerian guy is mentioned, but if you have a key you will see a wisdom behind it.
If you you don’t have one you will believe in that shallow version of wisdom.
What did I say about shallow versions generally? Nothing. The world is built upon them. Or so it seams.
