P.S, I did however purchase a Hofner 500/1 Contemporary bass from my local Sam Ash store just 2 miles down the road. They actually give a fuck about having a REAL selection and actually give a damn about what the customer wants and not how many Squires or Epiphones they can push down the public's throats.

I can only play it at Guitar Center? Does that mean we’re not allowed to buy it? Does that mean we’re not allowed to take one home does that mean that the one that I already own is only allowed to be played at a Guitar Center store? Am I not allowed to play the one that I own at my house?

They did an awesome job of showcasing how terrible you can make this bass sound... Höfner basses sound amazing, but how did they mess it up!?

The ignition Hofner (their Chinese made entry level guitar) sounds as good when Hofner flatwound strings are added. This is just one way I getting those with more money than sense to part with their cash. Until the Beatles started using Hofner's they were nothing more than the Squires of their day, cheap labour in Germany at that time helped deliver that, the prestige of being associated with the Beatles has lifted them to a whole different level.

I honestly don't feel the presence on the hofner.
