Samsung Galaxy S4 super-sensitive touchscreen demonstration

Just like the Nokia Lumia 920, the Samsung Galaxy S4 employs similar Synaptics technology for operating the display with gloves and other objects, which can come very handy if you are riding on the ski lift and receive a call, for instance - you don't have to take your gloves off in the freezing temps.

What a great idea this, will be very useful when it's cold and you have gloves on!

I actually consider this a bad thing because many times when I had phones with hardware buttons putting them in my pocket would accidentally activate something or call someone. With touch screens only my finger could set it off if I forgot to lock it. If anything can work on the screen then have to be super careful now

The screen is actually crazy sensitive even on default mode. Try hovering (not touching) your finger over the lockscreen. The little orb of light starts following almost a centimeter before you actually touch the screen. With sensitivity mode on, you can almost double the distance. It's like using a drawing tablet.

That is such a simple thing yet it will be sooo helpful to me when I'm at work with gloves on, I actually use my nose to answer my phone at the minute!

They still are. Samsung still makes Retina Displays for the Macbook Pros, if I'm not wrong.

I have a 920 and this is pretty handy, when it's cold and you are wearing gloves

My S3's screen already works with pretty much all metal objects (even without being in contact with my skin). So nothing's new in that aspect. Good to see support for big gloves, now. :-D

ANY capacitive touch screen works with conductive materials, like metalling pen, fork, phones with metal casing.

Hmm what pens do you use? I'd like a pen with softer tip but thing, I'm too paranoid about using normal pens with hard tips.

How come you guys have the phone so early when no other sites have it ?

@TheWillu97 You know you can switch it off in L920...? It works perfectly with all of these.

I don't like the super sensitive feature, but I love that you can use it with gloves

What about when it is in your pocket? I carry my phone in my pocket not in a belt clip. so would this cause pocket dialing?

Capacitive screens doesn't really need any force to register input. You are thinking about resistive touchscreens.

For the "S" line, is actually C-pen. S-pen is for Note and Note II.

So if you have objects in the same pocket you have your phone in, and your phone isn't locked/screen off, it can open apps? Don't know how I feel about a super-sensitive phone bc of that.

what was the widget (app) above the flipboard widget?

I can't do anything that he did on this video with an S4. Is there a switch for this or something?

is there any option to turn the super-sensitive touch screen on/off??

I'm not talking about what you touch with, Gloves and all is a good idea. I meant the force required to register a 'touch'
