This is the most helpful video I’ve seen so far comparing the entire lineup, still puzzled to find a similar video for the dell side

Great video, thanks for spelling it all out! Bought a elitedesk 800 g4 a little bit blindly, needed the two 3.5 bays for a NAS/jellyfin server. It works great with the UHD 630! Great transcoding capabilities.

I bought an EliteDesk 800 G4 and it is working beautifully.

Really appreciated this video, was confused what the differences between the models were, now I understand. Thanks for this, spot on 🎉

Glad that you reviewing the SFF variant, since STH already reviewing Tiny Mini Micro, and many other youtuber review the standard "MT" tower. Also those overview table is to the point and easy to understand, and maybe you can make each line alternate color so it's easier to identify. Great job as usual!

Thank you very much for the information; HP's official documentation is a little all over the place and not really well compiled. Been shopping for a new NAS for a while now, just made a purchase of a 800 G3 SFF for $70 in total as my new NAS(2 bay is good enough for me, for now), after watching your video and the decision of G3 rather than G4 saved me about $50.

Gotta thank you bro, I purchased a Pro 600 G5 and upon watching your video had a hunch I needed a bigger size for an RTX A2000 so grabbed a Elite 800 G5 and it ought to be perfect, arriving in a couple of days and I can't wait!

These HP Pro/Elitedesks with Intel 8th gen processors can be build into a budget triple-A gaming PC with the addition of low profile RX 6400 or RTX A2000.

Excellent video, narration and visuals especially the charts. Would really appreciate a similar video on the minis as none of the many I've seen so far present a true comparison. They could all learn and up their game by learning from this video. Thanks again. Regards

reading the final charts, it seems like for the 800 sff, the best option is G4, you get the massive improvements that came with 8th gen intel over previous generations, a second nvme slot, support for 2 3.5 drives and an extra 2.5 drive on top of that, plus you get usb 3.1 gen 2 for those 10 gigabit usb speeds

They are up to the G9 now... it's ok I'm only 7 generations behind 🙂. Awesome video, Zig!

Great video! I'm a big fan and user of old OEM machines. Had various machines, 8200, OptiPlex, Z440 and it's time to upgrade to something more modern. I went with the EliteDesk 800 G4 with an i5-8500 because it has more slots, more ports and less crammed inside. The differences are in the detail and you did a great job outlining them! Very important to know is that with the 8th series, the i5 now has 6 Cores, so it's a big upgrade over a 7th gen i5, so I would aim to get a 8th gen intel at the very least. I'm not sure if 9th gen is worth the premium yet...

Great video. Please make a follow up video about the Mini series as it it is incredibly confusing. Prodesk vs Elite Desk...Then series 700 versus 800 and the the generations! I don't understand how Hp would think this naming schemes make any sense lol. Anyways thanks for the video. Subbed!

What sucks is getting one that the bios is locked and it doesn't use a jumper pin but a dedicated chip

I think a video on the tiny ones would get a lot of hits, because of ServeTheHome's Project TinyMini Micro.

I also think the SFF is way more useful. Thank you for this video!

This video saved me getting scammed. Was looking at a Pro Desk G4 i5 8th series online and it was a good price. I was able to see by your detailed photos of the back that it was actually a G3 7th series and worth a lot less than what they priced it at. Thank you!
