Hosanna
Words & music by Cece Yentzen
Zebulon, my old friend,
You won’t believe what happened to me!
Half-past eight, our barn gate
Some men came calling…
They needed a colt, unridden
I’d carry a man to Jerusalem.
You know I’d never been chosen, how long I’d prayed!
Their coats on my back as a saddle.
He brushed His hand through my mane!
I didn’t know what it meant
When I heard them say….
When I heard them say…
Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!
Zebulon, my old friend,
You won’t believe the things I heard them say.
They laid both palms and cloaks
Along our path.
They said that this Man’s the Messiah!
He’d healed the sick and broken
They said that He’d even raised a man from the dead!
They said I was part of a promise
On Zechariah’s ancient scroll!
I’m the colt to carry the King and now I’m whole.
Now I’m whole.
Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna! Hosanna!
Hosanna in the highest!
