Показать описание
This wild cucumber chow is a great salad that is packed with flavor in every bite and has added benefits from using fresh garlic and ginger.

"Cucumis anguria, commonly known as maroon cucumber, West Indian gherkin, maxixe, burr gherkin, cackrey, and West Indian gourd, is a vine that is indigenous to Africa, but has become naturalized in the New World, and is cultivated in many places. It is similar and related to the common cucumber (C. sativus) and its cultivars are known as gherkins." - Wikipedia

My granny use to curry it with saltfish and rice or dumpling boil plantains on the side. She would always wash out some seeds and plant them. Bess dish.

That looks very appealing. I hope to see that cucumber somewhere here in Phoenix, Arizona, some day soon. May I suggest you not put items on the plate that are not to be eaten? Someone who does not know any better might pop that scorpion pepper into their mouths and you'd have an emergency on your hands, and probably one less friend (because they'd be so angry at you). Sure does look good. Thank you for posting.

I would see that growing wild as a child. We were always told as children that it was poison and we shouldn't pick or eat it. Go figure
