I managed to get a few games in with Kamil at a show last year, having the designer talk through their thought process during the game was pretty enlightening.

Over all I like the idea of the game and definitely enjoyed seeing a deck work at it's peak efficiency but when that isn't happening it can be a slog. The hope seemed to be that once the game was out there in full it would pick up a niche following and Awaken Realms would develop from there but instead it ended up way too niche to the point of being unknown.

I'm sure your copy has them as well, but the booster for an expansion that never came. The game needs a bigger card pool to encourage deck building, as it is you might as well stick to the base decks.

Life decking and the box sounding like it's begging you to play? Yeah... don't have much faith in that.

I've got my promotional set with my The Edge Kickstarter pledge. I tried to play a few games but it didn't really do much for me.
I get Awaken Realms' desire to get into the casual/filler games market but I feel they will need to step up to succeed with AR Lite. None of AR Lite titles I've seen had this oomph of creativity and fun that their big titles had. I hope they'll surprise me though, I love this studio and I know they could do something light and fun.

ProZD, i wish you did some bigger title from Awaken Realms. I know you played Nemesis, I'd love to hear your take on it. Or maybe Tainted Grail. Or Cry Havoc. Or Edge. Or Etherfields. Damn they're prolific
