I was the superintendent for a development where the outside A/C unit had a GFCI in the A/C disconnect box. There was a protected circuit in the bathroom adjacent to the A/C compressor. I had the Electrician change this setup, because a homeowner would NEVER look in the A/C box outside if and when they lost power in the bathroom.

My favorite is when you are on a jobsite and cannot reset the breaker for the garage because it tripped the breaker in the gfci outlet on the other side of the wall in the bathroom. There are some goof electricians
