New Snap Spectacles hands-on: Worth it?

If they let you record for longer and also at a 16:9 aspect ratio these could actually be used outside of Snapchat. But paying $150 just to open your Snapchat capability is a waste.

I own the first version, and I love them, even I don't use them daily! I use them for many reasons specially when I go to theme parks where cameras, cellphones, gopros, etc are not allowed... And why people don't think out of the box?? You are not stuck with snapchat, You can transfer the files from the app in HD to your Phone and use it for any purpose, any social media... I got some awesome footage not possible with other devices...

I'm a filmmaker with a physical disability I would totally use this technology constantly if it didn't just record in that circle format just for snapchat. If they could record in HD - even if the bitrate wasn't great - I would use these constantly and pay more. The only thing that stops me running out the door to buy these is the fact that they only record that circle video.

I actually really like the idea behind the glasses - effortlessly capturing whatever you're experiencing... but they just aren't good enough, I want to be able to record for longer and automatic transfer is a must. Also they made them more expensive when price was a big issue before!

The problem with this product is that it's inherently a gimmick. It's only slightly more easy than taking out your phone but it's ridiculously cumbersome to specifically charge and remember to bring these everywhere to actually use them. And add to that the fact that they don't look good enough to first be useful as sunglasses. It's a flawed concept.

Cant they hide the cameras behind the glass and use some kinda one way mirror lens technology so it doesnt effect the picture?

My biggest issue with them is because of that weird video format. If they or anyone else does it in the standard wide screen format, I'd buy them in a heartbeat!

Whilst I have no intention of every buying these, I’m glad to see improvements being made.
