Question: our last frost date is 5/15, but we know it’s not totally safe until 6/1 to plant out. Should I add 2more weeks to the start indoors time?

Tomatoes are the big one I struggle with because they can get big in a hurry. Last year it was so warm and we planted out before the last weekend of May and we had a freeze that took out many plants and killed fruit. No warning from local weather at all. This year has been the warmest winter I have ever known and it is worrisome. They collected maple sap a month earlier 😮.

Just trying to not have blossoming transplants of tomatoes and peppers before transplanting. This weather gets everyone raring to go and then frost hits and it’s devastating.

Thanks for explaining when maturity date starts as many of us need reminding.
